Celebrating a New Year and Having Some Fun at Home: Dec 31-Jan 9, 2013

 When 2012 became 2013...

The last day of 2012 was beautiful! The sun finally came out of hiding and we were itching to go on a nice walk. Of course, due to the nice weather, and awesome end-of-the-year sales, everyone else had the same idea!  So, on the last day of 2012, we saw the biggest crowds yet in Wuhu!

Mirror Lake in Wuhu. Dec 31.

The awesome sunshine was enough to entice some people to the lake.

But we just enjoyed walking around, eating "local" snacks and checking out the scenery. Sometimes  even on the most familiar paths here it seems like there is something new and interesting to see.

New Year's day pancakes!
We forgot about getting a picture until we were almost
finished eating so it's not the best photo. Jan 1
On New Year's day (Sorry if that phrase just prompted the U2 song to blare in the recesses of your mind for the remainder of the day) we started a new tradition of making pancakes for breakfast (we've decided that waffles are acceptable too if we have a waffle iron handy) and we made some from scratch!

We aren't too big on resolutions but we did draft out some plans to keep us on track with the things we really want to do with our free time.

Now for the main attraction... photos of the baby!
