Lantern Festival and Welcoming Spring: Feb 23-March 12

The snow melted and the cold weather cleared up so we were back to having fun rolling exploring outside, getting fresh air and welcoming Springtime!

We were both so happy to be outside again we had to take shots of each other strolling Connor...

Connor has still been having some teething problems so his colorful Haba ring has become an almost permanent stroll around town accessory.
At home, Connor prefers teething biscuits; a disgustingly messy teething fix.

February 24th was a special day this year because it fell 15 days after Chinese New Year, making it the day for Lantern Festival! You can probably guess that lanterns are hung and lit as part of the celebration for this festival. The festival also symbolizes the end of Chinese New Year celebrations. You can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lantern_Festival

Last year, we lit a lantern to celebrate lantern festival and wrote a special message on it for the baby.

This year we didn't light a lantern because that would take place too late at night for Connor so we celebrated by taking a stroll around the lake.

The next couple of weeks the weather fluctuated between cool and warm and we spent several days outside exploring and taking in the first signs of Spring.

As much as we like seeing new plants, it was even more fun watching Connor experience the plant life for the first time.

6 months old. March 6th, Connor turned 6 months old! Happy half birthday!
His stats: 8kg (or 17.6lb) , 67.5cm (or 26.5 inches)
Because he was showing interest, we started giving Connor some tastes of first foods a few days before his 6 month birthday. We bought infant rice cereal for him and planned on preparing all of his other food ourselves.

  1. Yay! More updates! Thanks. Love the Easter egg fest you guys had, the dyed eggs were beautiful. I remember dyeing eggs when you were little, Christian, a ceremony I always kind of dreaded since the dye could end up anywhere. Hey, I also like the Christopher Walken hairdo in the 3/9 photo above. But your 3/13 haircut sure changed that! Anyway, Connor and all of you look great; fun update!
