Nothing like starting a post with a super adorable grinning baby shot!

The most exciting thing happened on October 21st, Connor lost the last little bit of his umbilical cord! You may remember from a previous post that Christian was the one who cut the cord when Connor was born, so you can imagine how stressed out Christian had been in anticipation for this moment.
But, as fate would have it, there was nothing to worry about. Here's the first shot of Connor's little belly button - now, a cord free location!

A little blurry, but you get the (mid)drift... Also be sure to check our the funky mushroom diaper decor. |
These 4 days we got more shots of Connor smiling away. I'm only going to post 3 that I think are pretty awesome, otherwise I'll let my new parent pride get the better of me and upload over 100 photos; many of which, I've been told by not-Connor's-parents, look remarkably similar!
By sheer coincidence, these three favorites were all taken on 10/23!

| SQUEE! Crazy baby in action! |
 |
| A sweet little smile. |
 |
AAAH! Unbearably huge smile!
|
But smiling isn't the only cool thing that Connor has been up to...
 |
Here you can see that Connor isn't only swiping around with his hands; he's letting his legs get in on the action! (10/22) |
 |
Connor touching Mr. Eggplant for the first time. (10/23) Dad helped by temporarily lowering the toy, which hangs from Connor's vegetable themed mobile, within reach. (But Connor did all the hard work - read, the aimless swiping until he made contact with his goal!)

Connor was also invited to his first banquet!
 |
The new mom,who is wearing a pink sweater, is standing in the back of this photo. Kim and Connor are in the foreground. (10/24) |
This is a banquet given to celebrate the end of the 1st month in a newborn's life. It is being held for the infant of one of Christian's colleagues who gave birth to her first baby a few weeks after Connor was born. We were served a very nice meal and each guest was given a box of eggs; a traditional gift for this kind of banquet.
We couldn't decide between cute and funny to end this post... so we're giving you both.
First is another shot of Connor sleeping. I love all the handcrafted goodness going on in this photo!

The blue and white crocheted afghan that Connor is laying on was made by his Nana. The lovely red knit laced afghan was made by his Aunt Marian. (10/21) |
And the final photo features a onesie that Kim embellished...

Love these last two updates...the smiling Connor chronicles of Wuhu! He has the greatest open-mouth smile I've seen, with lots of glee in his eyes. A beautiful baby! I'm also glad you captured the clutching of the veggie; awesome move! Thanks again for these posts!
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks. I love his big open mouthed smile too! Of course he can open it just as wide to scream - but those moments don't inspire us to pick up the camera :)
